Pinelands High Jazz Band Hits a High Note at Band Slam Finals

Pinelands High School is proud to congratulate its Jazz Band on placing second in the Band Slam Finals at the V&A Waterfront.

Band Slam is a schools’ music competition that gives high school bands in the Western Cape the opportunity to perform in a live public setting. This year, 44 high schools entered the competition, with 15 progressing to the semifinals over four nights. Only three schools were then selected for the finals.

Pinelands High School took to the stage alongside Settlers High School and Rustenburg Girls’ High School’s Blu Quaver, delivering a confident and memorable performance. Settlers High School placed first, Pinelands High School second, and Blu Quaver third.

This achievement reflects the students’ many hours of rehearsal, preparation and teamwork, as well as the support of their music teachers, Ms Esau and Mrs Jurgens.
